I was feeling a little energetic this Sunday, and because I need something to cheer me up from all the programming I did today. I also felt like I haven’t posted anything bookish for a while now so to leap everyone’s spirits up, I decided to do a book tag. I wanted to catch up on my tags anyways, and I am so horrible at keeping up with it. Forgive me. ❤

Onto the tag!

SCREAMERS – a book that made you want to scream! (in a good or bad way)

This piece of literature right here. I don’t even know why I shouted but maybe it’s because of a certain characters death. I really don’t know why.

BOMBERS – a book that you read before it “exploded” in the book community

I haven’t really read anything that did explode in the community before it got famous. But I hope The Secret Paris Cinema Club suddenly explodes.

BANGER – a banned book you’ve read

It has really bugged me that people have banned other people from reading this book. I frankly don’t see anything wrong with it, and the fact that it made me feel better as a person. If they get bothered by the issues this book has tackled, then they should do something about it. But one way not to do it is to ban the book that has sparked the idea of stopping those issues.

PEONY – a book/author you think everyone needs to read

As soon as I read through the first few pages, I just could not wait to recommend it everyone else. I immediately fell in love and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I want this book so bad right now. I want my own copy and that sole statement alone is enough for me to convince you guys to read it.

CROSSETTE – a book/series with a complicated plot

The plot alone is too much for me to handle. Yet I STILL WANT TO READ IT. If ever I forget that one spoiler that convinced to not pick this book up (which is not happening in the near future), I will go read these books.

DIADEM – a book/series with an amazing set of central characters

Obvious answer, since the series is good. I now admit that. The world is just so colorful and amazing. It was visually appetizing and my craving is satisfied with the delightful set of characters. Hands down to Sarah J. Maas. You are now my queen, too.

Book Tag: Read This, Watch This!

Hahaha. Look at me. I’m catching up on tags. What an amazing feat. I picked out the best of the best just for you guys. I channeled my inner nerd on this one so prepare yourself. I would like to thank Bea @ When Curiosity Killed The Cat for tagging me. I have been dying to do this tag but when I saw it I just… gosh. Which fandom should I pick? I don’t want the other fandoms to feel left out. This is so hard. Only five? I got so many to choose from. So I narrowed it down and I ended up with these guys. Anyways, onto to the tag!

Here are the rules:

Create five Book-TV/Movie Pairings. (Again, only five???)
Tag your favourite book bloggers/booktuber.

You know those unique stories where you just cannot have enough feelings? Here’s the premise: both of them have ghosts that returned to fix up a messed up life, or in some cases, lives. Mitch Albom’s books truly leaves the reader thankful and more optimistic in life. But Anohana… oh boy. If you want to cry a bucket full of tears (and that’s just the first episode), then you may want to watch it. I personally cried every episode. And based on the some of the people I know who have watched this, some of them don’t really watch anime. Amazing stories, and both stories just breaks your heart in a good way.

Tired of your regular superhero/the chosen one trope? Well fear no more because these misfits can handle you. Basically, the premises of these two feature leads that are not the “Chosen Ones”. One just wants to handle to basic necessities of a teenage boy and the other one just wants to prove himself to his father, who happens to be the greatest superhero ever. The Awesomes is clearly one of my favorite series because 1. Seth Meyers, the host Late Night, voices the lead and 2. It’s amazing. Clearly, the two are a perfect match. (I’m dying to get a copy of The Rest of Us Just Live Here. 😦 )

Mentioning this movie on my blog for the enth time, believe me when I say that at first I didn’t see the resemblance. Then it hit me how Ezra Faulkner and Tom Hansen are the same. Both of them loved a girl that has their own way of thought and those girls made them realize what aspect of their life need to change. Both exquisitely beautiful and stunning works of art. But then again, what rock do you live in if you haven’t watched (500) Days of Summer? Kidding. Rocks are cool.

You can easily love Amelie. Cath and her just know how to spread the love around. It will give you all the feels of relating with an introvert and the film was just absolutely beautiful and funny. It builds its own tropes and it definitely brings a smile to everyone who will watch it. Bonus points since it’s in French.

For Pete’s sake, just watch Friends. It’s the best decision you’ll ever make and you won’t regret. You deserve the fun and life lessons Friends has imparted on it’s many viewers, just like the wisdom Mindy Kaling, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler has given us for the past… years. JUST WATCH IT.

The Harry Potter Tag

Okay. It’s July 31st and I am sorry. I just don’t want to calm down about this. Harry Potter made me into who I am today and this tag will be at least my downpayment. I saw this tag from Maren @ The Worn Bookmark, Cristina @ My Tiny Obsessions, and Kimsiang @ LazyCaramelReads so I just had to do it. Deep deep down, I am a Pottergirl. So paying tribute to Harry Potter is what I do. (This is spoiler free, I guess? But don’t worry. Not really bomb spoilers, if I might add. Just in case you haven’t read Harry Potter. Saying it is overrated is not an excuse, love.)

Onto the tag we go!

1. Favorite book?

Definitely Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Even though the book has issues, I loved it to bits. Fun fact: Angry, jealous teenagers stare at me during recess because I have a hard-bound Book Six in my hands. Swag is on me.

2. Favorite movie?

I will have to go with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The magic started with that movie and I remember watching it as a 4 year old kid. It got me believing in wizards and witches until probably my last dying breath.

3. Least favorite book?

Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix just didn’t float on my boat. Blame Dolores Umbridge. And them condemning Harry. You cruel people 😦

4. What is your least favorite film?

Surprisingly, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I had nightmares because of the ending and their hair-dos in that movie. Only Fred and George looked adorable (and maybe Cedric Diggory.).

5. Parts of the books/movies that make you cry?

The dying parts. All of it. Just all of it. Rest in peace dears. You will forever be honored and remembered for the sacrifices you made for us Muggle-borns / future wizards.

6. If you could hook up with any character, who would it be?

I’ve had a crush on Harry Potter since I was 4. Teehee.

7. Favorite character?

The one and only Hermione Granger. The person next to my mother who encouraged me to excel.

8. Who is your least favorite character?

DOLORES FREAKIN UMBRIDGE. GOD I HATE HER SO MUCH MY RAGE IS EQUIVALENT OF THAT OF A FIRE ABLAZE. Oh and also Cho Chang.

9. What is your least favorite line?

Something Mr. Lovegood said in the 7th book.

10. What would your Patronus be?

Probably a rabbit. Idk.

11. If you could have the Resurrection Stone, the Invisibility Cloak, or the Elder Wand, which one would you choose?

Everyone wants an invisibility cloak. Come on. 😀

12. What House would you be in?

I am in no doubt, Ravenclaw. The house suites my personality and the house is like a haven to me. And yeah, I got sorted into Ravenclaw at Pottermore. Although out of the three tries, I ended up in Slytherin on the third try so…

13. If you could meet any member of the cast, who would it be?

The big three. Because I would die instantly at the sight of them. They are practically my idols growing up.

14. If you were on the Quidditch team, what position would you play?

I think I can be the Seeker. But I also want to be a beater, because it will calm my nerves.

15. Were you happy with the ending?

Yes, it was a good ending. I love it as it is. Flaws and all (I am calling out to you movie.)

16. How much does Harry Potter mean to you?

It means everything to me. I just owe everything to it. My love for reading, my fangirl-ishness. my undying crave for books (thanks Hermione), and my love for the cinema. I just cannot thank J.K. Rowling enough for being so wonderful.

I grew up believing that an owl would be on our doorstep by August on the year of my 11th birthday. I was that faithful. It was fun to be kid when you have Harry Potter merchandise to play with. Needless to say, Harry Potter made my childhood more memorable than it actually is. The magic lives on.

If you haven’t read Harry Potter yet, I promise you that it is something heaven sent. I channeled the inner kid in me for this post (Hello this is the 4 year old me. Joke.).
And to all the other Potterheads out there, come on. Add me up on Pottermore already! Hahaha.

The Bedtime Book Tag

Omg my first tag. I was tagged by Rae @bookmarkchronicles to do this one. Thank you so much for the tag 😀 So you go follow her lovely blog while you’re on a roll today. Onto the tag we go!

1. A book that kept you up all night reading -Trick question. I always stay up late reading books. I don’t know why but if I really like the book, I would not stop until I hear my mother’s footsteps by the door. You know how we do. Lol. So I would have to go with the recent book that kept me up all night (which was also on my July TBR): No one can stop me while I am reading a book!

2. A book that made you scared to sleep -It’s a middle grade book but I forgot the title so I will just tell you the synopsis: The people couldn’t get out of the cinema because the grounds it was built on used to have a burned down hospital. I don’t know if it’s Goosebumps or a book of horror stories that I really enjoyed (but I cannot keep because it was from the library). I swear the narration was just so eerie in my head that I needed someone to come with me to the bathroom for a week.

3. A book that made you go to sleep -Hmm. Tough one. At the same time, if I feel really sleepy and the book can wait another day, I sleep with the book by my side. I think, if recently, it’s: 4. A book that left you tossing and turning all night in anticipation of its release -It was 2014 and I was a broke sap when I saw this one as one of the most anticipated releases for 2015. As soon as I saw the cover, I was dying to read it. Like it was calling me and it kept telling me to buy it. I died in January when I saw it on the bookshelf of our local bookstore. But until now, I am still a broke sap. 5. A book that has your dream boyfriend -Duh. Do I need to explain this one? 6. A book that would be your worst nightmare to live in -If I lived here, I would probably break the 4th wall and go on a rage. Not the best of myself because… Yeah, I will just let the book do the explaining because the thought of the thing that happened on this book is just depressing.

-Listening to a dead girl’s cassette tape really made me pull an all-nighter on this all-nighter.

8. A book that left a nightmarish cliffhanger

-Edgar Allan Poe rules this round. Any of his works will do. All of them are so ridiculously creepy.

9. A book that you actually dreamed about

-I went on board the Hogwarts Express and I got lost on the corridors. BUT I WISH IT NEVER ENDED. I was sobbing because I thought I was finally admitted to Hogwarts.

10. A book monster that you would not want to find under your bed

-He counts. Let’s just never speak of this again. And I am so sorry for the nightmares that I have inflicted. I hate you so much Stephen King (and Tim Curry).
